Velocert soft-launched at MCMC 2025 in Zagreb
28 March 2025

Between 18 and 20 March 2025, Algebra University in Zagreb hosted MCMC 2025 – the Micro-credentials Masterclass, a flagship European event bringing together thought leaders, innovators, and policymakers shaping the future of credentialing and recognition in education.

Organized by the Knowledge Innovation Centre, this year’s edition featured more than 40 presentations and six thematic sessions covering topics from recognition and inclusion to interoperability and quality assurance. Keynote speakers from OECD, Cedefop, FIBAA, Coursera, and 1EdTech shared a common goal: making learning more flexible, portable, and verifiable across borders, in line with the European Approach to Micro-credentials.

As a sponsor of MCMC 2025, we used the occasion for the pre-launch presentation of Velocert during the Interoperability Panel – an ideal setting for a platform that has interoperability built in from the start.

Velocert supports the issuance of credentials fully aligned with the European Digital Credentials for Learning (EDC) format and the Europass Learning Model (ELM), ensuring that your credentials can be verified and exchanged seamlessly across borders. It is already designed to work with future European Digital Identity (EUDI) wallets under the eIDAS 2.0 framework, meaning your institution stays aligned with upcoming European standards without additional technical effort.

Velocert is built to make your credentialing process simpler, safer, and future-ready. Behind it stands a multidisciplinary team combining expertise in digital trust infrastructure, education technology, legislation, and standardization – ensuring that every credential you issue is secure, compliant, and verifiable within the European trust ecosystem.

Presenting Velocert in this environment marked an important step in engaging with the community shaping Europe’s credentialing infrastructure, and gathering valuable feedback from those who will use and promote such solutions in practice. The feedback was overwhelmingly positive, confirming the growing need for interoperable, trusted systems supporting the future of learning.

A proud milestone for our team, and a step toward a connected, verifiable future of education. With MCMC 2026 already announced to take place in Amsterdam, we look forward to continuing the dialogue there.
